I had high hopes for this pan, after using the non-stick griddle with great success. However, this has the same problem as every other Calphalon grill pan – it is impossible to clean after only minor use.

I was swayed by the hype about the Unison line – you can brown meat in a nonstick pan! It’s kind of true, but I realize I don’t like the grill ridges. It seems like they exacerbate the collection of liquid under the meat, which interferes with the sear. If I want a grill I’ll use a real grill and it will actually work. I’d rather have a flat pan to sear with (my mistake). The pan is also very wide and shallow, which I find inconvenient though others may like.

Calphalon is the top of the line for cooking. Added this Gill Pan to my collection as this is great for searing chicken,steaks etc.

If you want to learn how to cook restaurant style food on a home kitchen budget, but don’t know how to cook, this grill is for you. Chicken, fish, vegetables, you name it… it’s as easy 1- 2- 3-. I especially like it because it cooks like an outside gourmet gas grill… and on those hot days or rainy nights when you want a good steak or grilled asparagus, this grill will do wonders. And the clean-up… no problem. No matter how bad you burn something, it all washes off easily.
