I never thought that I would see the day that I’d spend more on steak knives, than on the steaks themselves. But then again I had never heard of Kuhn Rikon before I purchased my Kuhn Rikon 4-Set Nonstick Steak Knife Colori in Red.
The knives are unusual, attractive, convenient, extremely well made and very sharp. I have to admit that I was slightly taken aback at first when I pulled off the sheath. I thought only the handle and cover would be red, but in fact the entire knife is except for a small portion of the blade.
Being that it’s now BBQ season we have been putting these knives through quite the workout. Everything from my “well-cooked” steaks to ribs, chicken and beyond. They haven’t failed us yet and I don’t expect that they will. Care is easy as I have been hand washing them even though they are approved for dishwashers. Once dry you just place them back in their sheath for storage and actually because of the sheath we’ve even begun taking them in our RV. No worries about cutting myself and no need to mess with plastic knives anymore.
I think these knives are a great purchase for a new home whether it be for yours or as a gift. Additionally the choice of colors also makes it nice if you are trying to stick within a color theme.
