Such a pretty knife. Very detailed, from blade, to sheath, to the handle. The handle just mold to your fingers very comfortably. It is Available in several colors. The knife’s non-stick surface coating works great. Why they have not thought of that before? The coating makes the blade glide with less effort that the blade seems to be super sharp because of this.

The sheath is very useful when you have to bring the knife with you. Not only it protects the blade but more importantly is a safety accessory to protect you.

Kuhn Rikon is a Switzerland brand, the knife is made in China. It is a quality product.

Up until now, my favorite knife was a very thin Sabatier carbon steel knife that I’d had for over 30 years. It is still razor, dangerously sharp, even though it looks like it’s been run over by a truck and left to rust. The Kuhn Rikon Colori carbon steel blades are as thin and as sharp as the original Sabatiers, but the coating keeps them from rusting. They are amazing.

You’ve probably seen colored knives in kitchen stores and wondered whether they work as well as they look. My answer? Yes. But only if you buy this particular brand. The Kuhn Rikon line has the best weight, handle, and blade strength of the brands I’ve tried. By accident, I purchased a couple of similar looking knives by Acuto — and they just aren’t the same quality. The Kuhn Rikon plastic handles are slightly textured, for a better grip, and they also are molded with a piece that keeps your hand from sliding forward into the blade end. The included sheath is sturdy, and it protects the edge from dulling as it hits other items in a drawer. Given how sharp the knife is, it also protects your fingers.

This utility knife has a 4 3/4 ” blade, slightly longer than a paring knife but not long enough to be a slicer. I use it for a variety of slicing tasks, usually for smaller fruits and vegetables, cheese — anything that is slightly larger than what I’d use the paring knife for.

The blade is very sharp, and you can stick it in the dishwasher, although knives tend to keep their edges longer if washed by hand. Even after several months of use, the color has not come off. Note that, although Kuhn Rikon is a Swiss company, the plastic handle is stamped “China.”

I use these knives as supplements to my Henckel set. The Kuhn Rikons cannot compare to the more expensive set, but they are a great, inexpensive addition to my kitchen.

In addition to blue, they come in a variety of colors, most commonly red or black but also yellow and purple.
